C OVID-19

The novel COVID-19, otherwise known as the coronavirus, has rapidly spread throughout our entire planet. Just beginning in early January of this year, it has already managed to work its way all around the globe. Nobody is safe from the spread, but there are ways you can try to prevent it. Coronavirus is not exactly a bacteria, just mainly a virus and it spreads very quickly. If you wash your hands, avoid touching your face, and avoid contact with others then you can help prevent yourself and people you care about from contracting it. If you do get the virus you may not have all the symptoms, or maybe none at all. That’s called being a carrier. You have to be careful because you could be a capsule for the virus to latch on to, and then it spreads to other people you’re around without you knowing it. If you’re out and about in public and you feel the urge to sneeze or cough, do it into your arm area. Don’t blow it into the open and don’t do it into your hands because that’s the absolute worst thing you would want to do. Now for the symptoms you will most likely have is a dry cough and shortness of breath/difficulty breathing. If you are experiencing any of this and really need to leave your home, be sure to wear a proper mask to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Officials are saying that the COVID-19 was given to humans from eating animals. Specifically, the people who ate bats in Wuhan. The bats on the food market supposedly had some kind of disease that none of them knew about, and when they ate them they contracted the virus and it mutated to become accustomed to the human body.

Nobody knows for sure how long it is going to last, although some are saying it will last for up to two years and maybe longer. Supposedly, after the first wave of coronavirus is over, there will be a very short period of time where everything stops, but then a second wave will hit and be much worse than this one. We do not have a cure or a vaccine for the virus yet but the scientists are working on it immensely. Keep in mind that the virus is only seriously affecting the elderly and really young infants. Teenagers and young adults do not seem to be affected nearly as much, but everyone is at an equal amount of risk at contracting the virus, especially if you have had past issues like heart disease or asthma. If you happen to be the parents of a young one, or are watching over an elderly parent, please keep them safe inside at all costs. Taking precautions is a vital survival tactic to counter COVID-19. Everyone stay safe, wash your hands, and wear your mask!
